Outfit of the day and my new LAMO sheepskin moccasins!

I showed you my new shoes in this post and I said I would be doing an outfit of the day with them, so you could see them ‘in action’. Well, today’s the day! Now, mind you… this isn’t a very fashionable outfit: this outfit is all about being warm and comfortable. These new suede moccasins by LAMO are right up my alley! As you know I had a baby 3 months ago, so ‘dressing up’ for no real occasion is not something that’s high on my priority list… What I pull out of my closet now has to be...

Review: Glossaholic Lip Gloss and Megawatt Smile Lipstick by Hard Candy

Today I’ll be sharing my thoughts on new Hard Candy makeup. Hardy Candy has recently come out with new products for fall/winter, which are available at Walmart. I have a couple of the new products and for the past couple of weeks I’ve been playing around with them. I’ve been really liking their Glossaholic Lip Gloss and the Megawatt Smile Lipstick + Tooth Whitener. Below are my thoughts and some swatches. 🙂 The Glossaholic Lip Gloss is huge! It has 0.38 oz. (10.8 g), which is a lot bigger than let’s say a regular MAC lipgloss. It has a doe...

Quick review: the Expert Face Brush by Real Techniques

I cheated on my beloved Sigma… Even though all my makeup brushes are by them and I love them dearly, I still went out and got a new one by a different brand. 😀 I’ve been hearing so many great things about Real Techniques brushes that I had to try it out for myself. Real Techniques is a brand by Samantha Chapman. Samantha is one of YouTube’s most-watched beauty vloggers. Together with her sister she makes online tutorials that are watched my thousands of people. I personally have never been a big fan, but that’s just me… Anyway, I was...

Review: NEOVA DNA Total Repair (correct & repair skin care treatment)

I’m giving away a beauty goodiebag to one of my lovely readers around the world. You should enter! Click here About a month ago I wrote about a new product that I received to try: DNA Total Repair by NEOVA I was super excited to have this product as the new edition to my skin care routine, as it couldn’t have come at a better time! After a long summer, it was time to focus on my skin again. DNA Repair replaced this product for me, which I can’t use anymore, because I’m nursing. I’ve been using it daily for...

Glade Expressions Collection: fragrances for your home

Hi everyone! I got something completely different to show you today. I have two new scents by Glade for my house and I’m in love. 🙂 Do you spot my Glade Expressions Oil Diffuser? It matches my desk 🙂 The new Glade Expressions Collection is inspired by art and designed to be left out on display. I got the Oil Diffuser (which yes, looks pretty artsy) and the Fragrance Mist. I have them both in the scent Pinaeappple & Mangosteen: freshly cut pineapples and hint of tangy mangosteen, creamy coconut and passionflower. Reminds me of my vacations in Hawaii! Hihi!...

Guest blog: Yung Rapunxel Lipstick by MAC (review by Tameeka)

I have a very special guest blogger today! My friend Tameeka read my review on my newest MAC lipstick: Yung Rapunxel, inspired by Azealia Banks (a deep plum with a pink, blue-ish undertone). Tameeka wanted to try the lipstick herself, so she ran to the NYC store (ok, maybe not ‘running’, but I’m pretty sure some speed walking was involved, since it’s a limited edition lipstick) and got herself one. Check out her thoughts below and see how the lipstick looks on her! 🙂 Whenever I wear lipsticks I tend to wear lots of browns and natural colors. I have...

Giveaway: Win a 30-Day Brazilian Hair Smoothing System by nuNAAT!

UPDATE OCTOBER 1: THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED The other day I wrote about nuNAAT’s Ultra Keratin Touch. Check out my review here, in case you missed it. Ultra Keratin Touch is a quick and easy, do-it-yourself Brazilian Keratin hair smoothing system. It lasts up to 30 days. The result is a temporary change of hair structure that leaves hair more manageable, considerably reducing volume and frizz, restoring hair’s natural shine and bounce for an all-natural look. In short: very curly hair will become smoother, while naturally straight hair will appear healthier and shinier. Extremely coarse hair types will see...

Review: nuNAAT Ultra Keratin Touch (30-Day Brazilian Hair Smoothing System)

Brazilian Keratin treatments have been really popular lately. I’ve always wanted to try a Keratin treatment, but I’ve never done it, until now, because it scared me a bit. My hair is natural (has never been chemically-processed), extremely curly and applying something that will change its texture sounded scary to me… You can imagine that when I was offered an in-home Keratin treatment for review purposes, I didn’t immediately say yes. Also, when I looked it up, I saw that it requires a lot of steps. But as curious as I am, I decided to give it a try. Especially...

Review: Yung Rapunxel Lipstick by MAC Cosmetics [pictures]

Like my posts? Stop by my official page on Facebook and click the ‘Like’ button. I’ll be hosting a FB giveaway soon. A couple of days ago I wrote that I’d purchased Azealia Banks’ Yung Rapunxel lipstick by MAC Cosmetics (swatches here). Now, I own a lot of lipsticks, but this particular lipstick was worth buying to me (and mentioning here). It’s very different from the lipsticks I’ve been wearing lately: I’ve been very much into pinks. For me getting a lipstick like Yung Rapunxel was a big deal as it’s a deep plum color, a dark color. When I...

Guest blog: Julep Topcoat for Hair (review by Nadine)

Everybody knows about topcoat for nails. It protects your nails, makes your polish shiny and ensures that your nails dry to the touch in just a few minutes. But have you ever heard of topcoat for your hair? Nope, me neither. Until I received a treatment in one of my monthly Julep boxes, called Topcoat for Hair. This is a product that is supposed to work on your hair just like topcoat does for nails, leaving a lustrous, protective sheen. Guest blogger and good friend Nadine tried it out, read her findings below! Following the Curly Girl method means that...

Review: Dove Daily Moisture Conditioner (and giveaway)

Summer is my favorite season! Our birthdays are in the summer: mine’s in August, my hubby’s birthday is in June and then of course our baby boy was born in July. 🙂 I personally love love love the sun and being outside. Unfortunately sun can be really bad for your hair, leaving it dry and rough. My main problem in summer is frizz and dry ends: if I don’t take care of it properly, my hair becomes straw-like. Not a pretty look… Hot summer weather is actually one of the main factors contributing to or affecting dry, frizzy hair. That’s...

Guest blog: Garnier Pure Clean Shampoo and Conditioner (review by Nadine)

Remember a guest blog where my friend Nadine wrote about washing your hair with conditioner and skipping shampoo? No? Click here to find it. 😉 Nadine has now been trying a new conditioner and shampoo (I know, shocker!), one by Garnier. Below is her review. Lately, in an effort to get fit, I’ve been taking more classes in the pool at the gym. I generally try to stay away from shampoo. That doesn’t make me ‘dirty’, just that with porous curly hair, shampoo isn’t always the best thing for me and I use a no-poo (aka Curly Girl) method for...
