My new obsession: speed shopping with Tophatter

People, I’m obsessing over an app! It’s a shopping app called Tophatter and I literally can’t put my phone away. On this app you bid in real-time auctions to win deals of up to 80% off jewelry, electronics, beauty and fashion in under 90 seconds. Once I started looking around and placing bids, I was hooked. Oops! My newest purchase is this pearl necklace. 🙂 Tophatter is a site that features shopping events with (brand name) fashion, jewelry, beauty items, electronics and more, for prices starting at a dollar. But unlike Amazon, eBay or flash sale sites like Gilt or...

Review: IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Compact with SPF 50+ (my 1st solid serum foundation)

IT Cosmetics has a new foundation! It’s their first ever solid serum foundation and it happens to be the first one I’ve ever tried as well. 😀 A solid serum foundation is a serum with added pigments and SPF 50+ physical sunscreen, making it a full coverage, anti-aging foundation. It’s basically 3 products in one: a foundation, a serum, and a sunscreen, conveniently housed in an easy to store and travel-friendly compact. This type of skincare/foundation has been insanely popular in Asia and is now making its way to the rest of the world. Pretty cool! IT Cosmetics calls their...

Mommy review: SoCozy hair products for kids (and a sweepstake!)

Both my kids were born with a full head of hair. My 4-year-old son has thick straight hair, whereas his sister (who will be 5 months in a few days) has more fine, curly hair. One thing they have in common: they both have A LOT of hair! For this reason, I make sure to use good products on their hair; products they use at (kids) salons. For Mason’s hair I’ve been using SoCozy. Mason has been using SoCozy’s Boing Shampoo, Conditioner and Leave-In Spray. Seems like a lot for a boy who’s only 4 years old, but he doesn’t...

Review: Sonia Kashuk Soft Focus Satin Matte Foundation from Target

Hi everyone! Today’s post is a foundation review. After finishing my Lancome foundation, I decided to go for a more affordable one: the Soft Focus Satin Matte Foundation by Sonia Kashuk, which you can find at Target. I’ve used it a few times, below is my review. How it’s described Sonia Kashuk Soft Focus Satin Matte Foundation delivers flawless-looking skin with a matte-but-not flat finish. This foundation makeup is infused with blue lotus, daisy flower and mallow extracts to nourish, protect and brighten dull skin. • Anti-aging formula • Perfect for oily and combination skin types • Medium to full...

Tip/mini review: Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Serum and Scrub

The other day I posted on my Instagram how I saved a ton of money on two Nip+Fab products at CVS. I don’t ‘coupon’ often, but when I do I try to save as much as I can of course. For this particular purchases, I waited for a sale (in this case: buy one, get one 50% off), I combined several CVS coupons and I also used CVS Extrabucks I had acquired. Score! I love these particular Nip+Fab products because they contain Glycolic Acid, which is great for refining pores, brightening the complexion and decongesting the skin, by improving the...

Quick tip/review: IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup 3-in-1 Makeup Melting Balm

Hello! How is the first week of 2017 going for ya? Hope it’s going better than it is for me. I’ve been having some rough days (long story), but nothing too serious. On some days I just get a little overwhelmed by everything and everybody, but I’m trying my best not to let stuff get to me as much…. Anyway, I have an awesome product to share with you today. I’ve been wanting to review this product in forever (I’ve almost finished the entire jar, that’s how much I love it), but today is finally the day! It’s the Bye...

Review: Chamomile Eye Therapy, an organic eye cream, by Made From Earth

Two months ago I announced that I would be trying and comparing two popular eye creams and I enthusiastically named my upcoming review the ‘battle of two eye creams’. I started using the Stem Cell Collagen Moisturizer by Lady Soma and I planned on switching to Made From Earth’s Chamomile Eye Therapy after 4 weeks of use. Unfortunately, the idea of comparing the two didn’t quite work out, because I immediately started getting little bumps under my eyes after a few days of using the first one. I think it might have been an allergic reaction to one of the...

Review: Studio Gear Prime Objective Perfecting Face Primer

When I first started applying makeup, I didn’t even know makeup primers existed. And honestly, I was never really satisfied with how my foundation look (which was just powder back then), but I wasn’t quite sure what to do about it. Until I discovered primers. A primer really does make your makeup look better and also extends the wear it! Once I started applying a primer before my powder, I never looked back. 😀 Primers don’t just go well with powders, also liquid foundation benefit from having a ‘base’ to sit on. Just think of it as painting a wall:...

Review: Head & Shoulders Green Apple Shampoo

It’s been really busy this past week, guys. Having a toddler and a baby sure does take up a lot of time. I haven’t even had time to properly do my hair after I wash it. Instead of straightening my hair with a flat iron, like I usually do, I’ve been doing a so-called ‘wash-and-go’. Wash-and-go simply means I’ve been washing my hair and letting it air-dry. I have naturally curly hair, so that’s what I’ve been rocking. The picture below is my hubby and I on Thanksgiving. 🙂 My hair has been looking beautiful. Not to toot my own...

Back at it! Today’s quick makeup look, using Studio Gear

When the baby arrived 6 weeks ago, I basically stopped wearing makeup. I’ve been too tired and I don’t much time for it. Having a newborn didn’t stop me from buying it though (I purchased some items from MAC’s holiday collection last week, for example), but using it? Not so much. The other day Studio Gear sent me some goodies in the mail to try, so I had no choice, they basically forced me… I’m joking of course. I didn’t have to, but you know me..I LOVE makeup and I love trying out new stuff. Sharing my thoughts on here...

Upcoming review: Battle of two eye creams

Remember me? I’m still here! Barely though. I think I’ve been getting about an average of 4 hours of sleep every night. I can barely keep my eyes open. I have to admit, my first born Mason is 4 years old now and I had forgotten how much work a newborn is. It seems like such a long time ago that he was this little… Baby Kayla is doing great though! She’s now almost 6 weeks old and growing like grass. We’ve been breastfeeding, which is going really well. She looks a lot like Mason, but I do see a...

My skincare routine: L’Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal (drugstore)

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! I’m here to share with you which products I’m currently using on my skin. It’s been a while since I last went over my skincare routine, so I thought it was time. I’m actually currently on a mission to use up most, if not all, the makeup and skincare samples I have. I’m also not buying anything new (limited edition makeup excepted) until the end of the year. This decision sounds hard for someone who’s so much into beauty like I am, but actually…it’s not. I’ve done something like this before (last year, I believe) and...
