Update: I’m giving away a complete set of these hair products! Check out the giveaway details here Almost four months ago I wrote about new hair care products that I had received. My first event in Vegas! About Creme of Nature hair care, women and wealth

On Saturday I attended my first event in Las Vegas for Kizzy Online! Woohoo! 🙂 I was invited to be one of the guests at the Women, Wealth and Relationships Forum, held in the Orleans Arena. It featured celebrity financial coach/author Lynn Richardson and a celebrity panel with MC Lyte, Nicci Gilbert, Marla Wilson, Luenell, Denise Boutte and Dj Thump. Upcoming review: System Hinoki hair products for hair loss / thinning hair

Long time, no see…right? I’ve been working on a couple of things ‘behind the scenes’ (trying out products for upcoming reviews) and I’m also in the middle of moving (we’re leaving Kentucky y’all!), so yeah… not a lot of time for new posts. This is a ‘high-end’ hair line that is developed to fix a specific problem: hair loss / thinning hair. When the products are used together, the complete system...

A Week of Favorites! In my hair: Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Oil

I’m back!!! I had some major issues with my laptop and wasn’t able to get on it for almost a month. It simply didn’t turn on anymore… Because I was traveling, I couldn’t get it fixed right away, it was a sad period in my life, I’m not even kidding. LOL! Luckily I’m back in the US now (I was in The Netherlands, as you probably know) and my hubby fixed it for me (bless him!), so I’m back! Because it’s been a while since my last post, I decided to do another ‘Week of Favorites‘. I’ve done these series...

Rotterdam Summer Carnaval: behind-the-scenes beauty with the Cape Verdean Queen

The Summer Carnaval Street Parade (Zomercarnaval) is a yearly festival in the Netherlands that resembles the Carnaval in Brazil. Every year it attracts almost a million visitors and participants to the city of Rotterdam. It’s a multicultural celebration, as Rotterdam is home to many people from different cultures in warm climates. This year’s Summer Carnaval is held on July 19th (this Saturday). It’s celebrating its 30th anniversary. I had the opportunity to speak with Olivia da Graça (21), who’s one of the participants in the Parade and part of the Cape Verdean group Cabo Verde Chegou. In fact, she is...

I got a haircut! [pics]

I got a haircut! Everybody knows I usually try to stay FAR AWAY from scissors (except for the yearly trims), but every now and then I do get an actual haircut. Yesterday was the day! If you don’t know how my hair looked before, here’s a reminder. And this is how my hair looks now: I LOVE how healthy it looks now. Even though I don’t like having short hair, I do see that getting rid of all the split ends (and some more!) makes a big difference in how the rest of my hair looks! Side note: this handsome...

Long hair…don’t care! How I made my hair grow long

When I wear my hair down (which, honestly, I rarely do these days), I always get questions about how I got my hair to this length. I don’t know why, but apparently there’s this myth that African hair (natural or relaxed), doesn’t grow or grow as quickly as other types of hair. This is not true at all. All hair grows an average of ½ inch (about 1.25 cm) per month, but it’s how you treat your hair that determines how much it will grow. My hair, its texture and its color, is all natural. Right now it reaches the...

Beauty Question Answered: Hair brushes, which one do you pick?

Hair brushes are the most commonly used beauty tool ever. Did you know that? However, most people just grab the first one they see at the store. The other day when I talked about my current hair routine, I showed you guys which brush I’m currently using: I use a ‘boar bristle’ paddle hair brush (found here).I’m not that great with hair, but I do know that using the right hair brush can make a big difference in the health of your hair and how it looks. There are tons of different hair brushes (different sizes and shapes) around, which...

My hair care routine (ft. Hask Argan Oil and Naturally Versatile by Kenya)

Today it’s all about my hair! As most of you know I’m not super into hair. I strive to do as little as possible with my hair and magically still have it look great. My hair is curly and it tangles like crazy. I prefer to wear it straight (to get it straight I use a flat ironer), it’s much easier to maintain that way. Brushing my hair daily also helps! 😉 I use a big wooden brush with boar bristles, like the one below. My biggest concern with my hair (not really a ‘concern’, but you know what I...

Nicki Minaj‘s real hair (again!)

I’m jetlagged! *cry face* I’m sleepy during the day and at night I can’t sleep. So annoying 🙁 I know I will feel better in a couple of days, but for now it’s pretty irritating. While not being able to sleep at night like a normal person I get bored, so I’ve been browsing the internet on my phone in bed… I especially love reading celebrity news and gossip sites, it’s my guilty pleasure! So I was checking out the gossip news in the fashion section of TheGossipBlog last night, where I spotted pictures of Nicki Minaj’s real hair. Because...
