Golden Globe hair

This is something I happen to notice while looking at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards red carpet pictures: Eva Longoria Parker and Megan Fox almost had the same hairdo….and a tattoo on the same spot! I like Megan’s hair (nr. 2) better! (and this is basically all I have to say about the Golden Globe, cause it really did not interest me that much….)Read more...

Barbie love Stila

In 2007 MAC released a Barbie-themed makeup collection. I bought a lipstick, but the rest of the collection didn’t do much for me… Now in 2009 Stila has a collaboration with Barbie to celebrate her 50th birthday! Time flies, also for Barbie… And I’m a lot more excited about this one! This (of course limited-edition!) collection will launch next month at Sephora stores. This includes international locations (yay me!) and online. The collection will include four ‘Decades of Beauty‘ cans ($40): 1) Ponytail Doll, which commemorates the first Barbie in 1959 2) Malibu Barbie, from 1971 3) Foxy Doll, in...

My new glasses

As you know I’ve bought new glasses. Well, here they are!! (pic taken in my new office by the way…) I have been wearing glasses since I was 11 actually, but I only wear them when I’m at home. Hardly ever ‘in public’. I mostly wear contacts. However, my eyes are getting more and more sensitive (especially after a long day at work), so that’s why I decided to buy new glasses and start wearing them more often than the ones I have now. 🙂 I do have a question, a very very important question, for the people who wear...

Ridiculous product alert: 90210 nail polish

Happy new year, everyone! 2009 has only just began and the first ridiculous product has already caught my attention: OPI has developed a line of 90210-themed nail polish.…(the spin-off of tv show Beverly Hills 90210) And of course the three polishes are available for a short period of time, making them ‘limited edition’. That’s the only reason someone would by these, I would imagine… To sell it to twelve-year-olds on eBay for a big profit….Read more...

Review: All Matt Primer by Make Up For Ever

Make Up Forever ALL Mat What it is: An oil-free foundation primer designed to remove shine with long lasting results. Non-greasy and oil-free. Only available at Sephora (or through Amazon). What I think: This stuff is great!! It’s a little expensive ($45 for a tiny bottle), but it’s definitely worth it! I have really oily skin (especially my nose and forehead), and this stuff does make it less shiny. I apply it after my regular moisturizer and before my mineral powder. It works all day long. I put it on in morning before I go to work (7am) and at...

Too Faced Smurfette

I don’t write about make up here often, but I do consider myself a make up addict. Being a ‘make up addict’ does not mean that I put on a shit ton of make up every morning or refuse to leave the house without it. It means that I enjoy applying it and coming up with new looks for myself every day. I guess I’m a typical girly-girl who enjoys being pretty! On that note let me introduce you to a new collection by Too Faced Cosmetics: The Smurfette Collection!. LOL! Yes, really! The Smurfette Collection. (see photo above) Too...

Tips from Bobbi Brown (the make up artist! not the singer)

I’m a big fan of Bobbi Brown. She seems like an ordinary woman and she always has the best make up tips. For this reason I put her latest and fifth book on my Christmas wish list: Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual. The book is filled with tips. That’s all I know, cause obviously I don’t have it yet. But knowing Bobbi Brown and how much she knows her stuff….it should be good! Here are a couple of tips (from the book of course) that I found online: Go lighter: When it comes to under-eye concealers, go one to two shades...

Review: The Tangle Teezer

No, this isn’t a dog brush 😀 It’s an actual hair brush for people. I wrote about it in this post. Now, a little over a month later, the verdict is: AMAZING! Works like a charm! If your hair gets tangled easily, this is definitely something you need to have!Read more...

Review: The Tangle Teezer

Untangle me, baby!

I’ve just ordered this brush: The designers of this thing got an award for 2008 British Innovation of the Year! The secret of Tangle Teezer is in its `specially designed mix of long and short teeth which glide through hair, not pull it. Since my hair tangles up pretty easily and I have a lot of breakage due to this, I’ve decided to check it out! I couldn’t help being a little curious…. I’ll let you know if it really works once I’ve tried it out. I should get it in in 3 days.Read more...

Sephora coming to NL

As a big Sephora fan, the news of these stores coming to the Netherlands makes me extremely happy! My wallet doesn’t agree with how I’m feeling, but I’m doing my best to ignore this fact… So the good news is that the Sephora in Utrecht has been opened! Next up is the one in Groningen on June 26, Amsterdam on July 3 and Rotterdam (my home town!) on July 10. These stores are all located in the V&D (a large department store) and there are more coming up. This is all great right? However, Sephora is also planning on opening...
