LEGOLAND California’s new Castle Hotel is now open!

Last week the kids and I had the pleasure to attend the grand opening of the new LEGOLAND Castle Hotel at LEGOLAND California Resort. Along with hundreds of media and special guests, we experienced a LEGOLAND-style royal ceremony that included knights on horses, a little girl squire and boy knight plus a hawk that flew the key to the Castle to Merlin the wizard. So much fun! 😀 Grand Opening of the LEGOLAND California Castle Hotel The new hotel is everything you expect it to be and more. It’s conveniently located right next to the entrance of the park, right...

Guest blog: Sleep and Beauty

All of us need a certain amount of sleep every day, and while most of us are grateful to lie down in bed, pull the covers up and go to sleep after a busy day, our sleeping hours are much more important than most of us realize. Our sleep patterns will differ from person to person, with some needing only a few hours of sleep to satisfy their body’s needs, while others will need a full 8 hours or more. Additionally, some of us are very light sleepers who will come awake at the slightest noise, while others sleep so...

Chuck E. Cheese’s now has Unlimited Games

The weekend is coming up! What are you guys doing? We’re thinking about going to Chuck E. Cheese’s again, one of our favorite places for games and activities for kids. 🙂 We went last Saturday and had so much fun! I’ll add some pictures below. Mason, who’ll be 6 years old in July, loves it. Secretly, I actually think my hubby loves all the games even more than he does… lol We are all excited to visit again because select restaurants in the San Diego area are offering Unlimited Games and our local Chuck E. Cheese’s is one of them....

Our Brick-or-Treat Party Night at LEGOLAND California [pictures]

Ever been to LEGOLAND after dark? I have. 😀 Just like last year, the kids, my husband and I were invited to attend one of the Brick-or-Treat Party Nights. During this event, LEGOLAND California celebrates Halloween with the little ones and it’s pretty awesome! Brick-or-Treat Party Nights is a special event that takes place every Saturday leading up to Halloween (the first one was on September 30) and tickets are $49 if purchased online in advance. We went this past Saturday. The event started at 5pm, which means that after an hour or so we were literally walking around in...

The Oxygen Beauty Spa: my first impression

Yes, that is me! 😀 Laying in a luxurious spa, surrounded by millions of oxygenated micro bubbles. I’ve had some pretty hectic weeks lately, so this past weekend I decided to treat myself to a treatment in an Oxygen Beauty Spa. I’m sure you’re wondering what this is… Trust me, I did too! I’ll explain in this post. The Oxygen Beauty Spa is a self-contained and eco-friendly spa that you can place inside your home, in your backyard or on your patio. It does not need to be connected to your home’s drainage system. The spa is filled with regular...

FBE’s monthly beauty giveaway + throwback pics of our son’s first day of school

Last time I was here a few days ago and I mentioned that Mason (5) had started kindergarten (kleuterschool, in Dutch). I promised to post some pics of him on Instagram, but like with most of my promises recently…I didn’t keep it (sadly). I’ve actually been off social media for a while now and it’s kind of a ‘step’ to get back on… I have been checking Facebook once in a while, but that’s about it. Because I didn’t post these pics there, I decided to put them here instead. So here’s Mason posing and holding different objects on his...

Review: Apollo Surprise Box (Yes, I’m back!)

Missed me??? I know I missed you! The last couple of weeks have been super hectic. My son started Kindergarten at the very end of August and I think it’s been harder on me than on him. Transitioning to a new school, getting a new routine down, getting up early…it took a little time to adjust to it all, but I can now say that we finally getting a hang of it! And with we, I mean me. LOL! I still can’t believe my baby is in school now. He had been going to preschool for about a year (he...

Guest blog: Quit smoking with these 8 astonishing tips and tricks

People often think that in order to quit smoking you simply have to stop doing it. This isn’t the way it works in practice. Cigarettes are a great addiction and it is really easy to relapse. It makes it harder that they are available all over the place. Given how hazardous tobacco and nicotine are to your health and even cigarette smoke can cause issues, it is necessary to approach this with level head. It is high time for you to try something new and this set of tricks may be just the thing you need. 1. Setting up small...

LEGO Batman Movie Days at LEGOLAND CA [our day in pictures]

Hi everyone! On February 18-19 and 25-26 LEGOLAND California hosted the LEGO Batman Movie Days and my family and I got to attend the activities! We went this past weekend and we had a blast, especially my son, who got to meet his superhero (remember Halloween at LEGOLAND, when he dressed up as Batman?). 😀 During these two weekends, LEGOLAND guests got to meet the LEGO superhero during this celebration of the Warner Bros. Pictures’ feature film, which also includes photo opportunities with the scene-stealing star, a themed scavenger hunt and LEGO Batman-inspired LEGO build activities. We loved it! We...

Our Halloween: Brick-or-Treat party night at LEGOLAND California

This year we celebrated Halloween in a big way by starting the celebrations at LEGOLAND California Resort for the Brick-or-Treat party nights, which is the BIGGEST kids’ Halloween celebration here in San Diego! Each year LEGOLAND transforms into a not-too-spooky Halloween party, where families are able to go trick-or-treating throughout the Park. The park is open every Saturday in October and this past Saturday my family and I were there! #BrickorTreat 😀 Besides the LEGO themed (of course!) ‘treat stations’ where kids to trick-or-treat for candy, there was also lots of entertainment, like a Ghost Cruise adventure, a pop-badge challenge...

Baby Kayla is here! Born on September 9, 2016

I haven’t written anything here for a while now and there’s a good reason for it…I had the baby! She was born on Friday 9/9 at the Mary Birch hospital here in San Diego. Her name is Kayla and she’s as healthy and beautiful as can be. I couldn’t be happier! Kayla made a big and quite unexpected entrance into this world, because she wasn’t due until the end of the month. I’d been having painful cramps for a couple of days, but when I went to see my doctor that Wednesday before she was born and he had told...

My baby bump at 36 weeks

Hi everyone! I’m here with another baby update! I’m 37 weeks pregnant now, which means that the baby is now full term. She is the size of a winter melon and theoretically I still have less than 3 weeks to go. A little voice inside of me is telling me that she’ll probably show up sooner… Honestly, I’m not quite ready yet, so I hope she’ll stay inside a little bit longer. 😀 These pictures were taken last week when my baby bump was 36 weeks! Also, click here to see pics of my first pregnancy when I was 36...
