LEGOLAND California’s new Castle Hotel is now open!
02 May 2018
Last week the kids and I had the pleasure to attend the grand opening of the new LEGOLAND Castle Hotel at LEGOLAND California Resort. Along with hundreds of media and special guests, we experienced a LEGOLAND-style royal ceremony that included knights on horses, a little girl squire and boy knight plus a hawk that flew the key to the Castle to Merlin the wizard. So much fun! 😀
Grand Opening of the LEGOLAND California Castle Hotel
The new hotel is everything you expect it to be and more. It’s conveniently located right next to the entrance of the park, right across from the other hotel. Guests staying at the Castle Hotel have early access to the park, which is awesome!
The kids and I got to do a tour of the entire place and we were all really impressed. Not only does the outside look like an actual castle, every room tells a story: every wall, floor, LEGO model is designed to make guests feel like they’re in a real castle. I tried to take as many pictures as I could, to show you guys. Keep reading!

The three-story hotel consists of 250 rooms (deluxe rooms and suites) and a full-service sit down restaurant. There are more than 2,100 LEGO models inside created out of more than three million bricks and there are three general themes:
* Royal Princess rooms
* Knights and Dragons rooms
* Magic Wizard rooms
Each theme is amazing, guys! It doesn’t really matter which theme you pick for your stay, they are each equally as fun.
Kids area in the Knights and Dragons rooms
Adult area in the Princess room
Each room has an adult sleeping area and a children’s sleeping area. The children’s sleeping area includes bunk beds, a trundle bed, their own television, LEGO building station and shooting stars illuminating on the ceiling.
The adult sleeping area is just as impressive. There’s either 1) a headboard above the bed that has LED lights that resemble a stained glass window, 2) a canopy sparking with twinkling lights or 3) shelves filled with potions and a magical bubbling illuminated pot. Just like a fairytale!
The Royal Courtyard: there’s a resort-style pool, muliples play areas, a giant movie screen and more!
The courtyard is, of course, called the Royal Courtyard: it has a big resort-style pool with interactive water features, a hot tub and a tented stage for live plays and shows. Next to the pool, there’s a big playground with multiple play areas for different age groups and a giant movie screen. My kids loved it, they didn’t want to leave!
This place is a ton of fun, guys! It’s like you’re part of an actual fairytale. If you enjoy LEGOLAND, you’re for sure love the new LEGOLAND Castle Hotel. I don’t think you would want to leave! My kids, hubs and I can’t wait to stay here for a long weekend. I have a feeling the rooms are filling up quickly. 😉
