Review: The best inexpensive face cream, Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream

26 Jun 2017

The other day I mentioned my oily skin. As long as I can remember I have oily skin. My nose gets oily, my chin, cheeks…pretty much my entire face, except for the outer perimeter. That’s where it’s a little dry. I guess you could say I have combination/oily skin. Even with my skin type, hydration is always important. My skin produces oil throughout the day, however, I always make sure to moisturize in the morning.

Olay contacted me a little while ago and told me about an independent test by the Good Housekeeping Institute (GHI) that showed that their Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream outperforms 10 top prestige creams, including one with a $440 price tag. Wow!

If you’re not familiar with the GHI: their engineers, scientists and other experts rigorously test products and evaluate them based on performance, ease of use, safety, durability and design. This year, GHK tested the latest Micro-Sculpting Cream formula against 10 prestige creams found in most department stores. These ranged in price from $26-$440. The GHI conducted clinical and blinded consumer studies, where scientists collected more than 10,000 hydration measurements and Olay rose to the top!

When I was offered to try this skin cream myself for a review, I couldn’t say no. Everyone knows that moisturizing your face is important. And if you didn’t know this, now you do! 馃榾

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Face Cream

About this moisturizer
Olay has introduced a re-engineered formula in the #1 selling anti-aging moisturizer: the Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. This is not only an anti-aging cream, but it’s a moisturizing and plumping powerhouse; hydration is one of the key benefits for younger women seeking preventative anti-aging measures. Today, women can take their anti-aging destiny into their own hands without paying a premium.

Key Ingredients
Carob Seed Extract (new), Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Amino-peptide (pal-KTKKS), Panthenol (Vitamin B5), Vitamin E, Olivem, Glycerin and Hyaluronic Acid

My thoughts
Moisturizing your skin is important for several reasons. If you don’t apply a moisturizer every day, the wrinkles you already have will look even worse and you can develop more wrinkles. Without a good skin cream, your skin will also look dull and might even get flaky. If you have blemishes, dryness can make them worse.

I like Olay’s Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream because it’s fast-acting: the test shows that at the 3-hour mark, Olay moisturizes 400% better than a cream nearly 18 times its price. It beat all other products tested.

What they also found is that, besides providing long-lasting hydration, this moisturizer is also lightweight (I dislike heavy creams!) and does a great job at improving skin’s texture. It contains some heavy duty ingredients that are known to firm and plump the skin, like niacinamide and hyaluronic acid.

My fine lines have been less visible and my skin has been looking more hydrated and bright. Besides feeling more moisturized, I also feel that my skin has been looking firmer and younger.

If you’re afraid of looking old like I am (I’m not ashamed to say that), but don’t want to spend all your coins at an expensive counter at the mall, try this face moisturizer! So far I’ve been loving the way my skin has been looking. 馃檪
