Back at it! Today’s quick makeup look, using Studio Gear
27 Oct 2016
When the baby arrived 6 weeks ago, I basically stopped wearing makeup. I’ve been too tired and I don’t much time for it. Having a newborn didn’t stop me from buying it though (I purchased some items from MAC’s holiday collection last week, for example), but using it? Not so much. The other day Studio Gear sent me some goodies in the mail to try, so I had no choice, they basically forced me…
I’m joking of course. I didn’t have to, but you know me..I LOVE makeup and I love trying out new stuff. Sharing my thoughts on here is pretty fun too. 🙂 So yeah, if you send me makeup in the mail, be sure to know I’ll use it asap.
I received these three items from Studio Gear: the Impactfull Pro T.L.S. Mascara and the Invincible Gel Liner in the shade ‘Earth’ (brown). I also received a #31 Invincible Liner Brush to use with the gel liner.
The first thing I tried, was the mascara:
PRO T.L.S. Mascara: Studio tested, high impact mascara that thickens, lengthens and separates the lashes, delivering maximum fullness and flare.
• Naturally derived collagen, hydrolyzed wheat protein and antioxidants nourish, condition, and protect the lashes.
• Deep, rich pigments create high impact lashes
• Long wearing without clumping, flaking or smearing.
The Impactfull Pro T.L.S. Mascara ($18) does it all: it lengthens my lashes, but also thickens them. They don’t get clumpy (I always apply two coats), which is a major plus for me. The only thing I don’t like is how it takes a while to dry. I usually finish my makeup look with finishing spray, so I have to be sure that my mascara is completely dry before spraying my face!
Whenever I apply mascara, I always always always finish the look with a winged liner. The gel liner is perfect for that:
Invincible Gel Liner: Gel cream eye liner providing the ultimate versatility in application and wear, always creating a
smooth and even finish
• High performance, water/smudge proof formula
• Capable of creating intense, sheer or smoky effect
• Use as shadow or liner
The Invincible Gel Liner ($15) comes in 5 shades, I have it in the shade ‘earth’, which is a dark brown. I would have preferred it in black, to be honest, because my lashes are super dark, but that’s ok! The best part about this gel liner is that it doesn’t smudge, even on my oily lids. It’s long-lasting (doesn’t fade) and at the end of the day it’s easy to wash off. I’m thinking about also using it as a base for eye shadow, whenever I do a smokey eye. I think it will be great for that as well.
I started out applying the gel liner with the brush, which is 100% synthetic. It has a flat, curved shape that fits great into the corners of your eye. Unfortunately, I find the brush a little bit to flimsy. I wish the brush was a little stiffer, so I can really get that sharp line.
Please don’t mind the awful bags under my eyes! I haven’t been sleeping much…
Overall, I like the everyday look I made with these products. Especially knowing that I literally didn’t spend more than 10 minutes on it… Curious? You can find Studio Gear makeup in select stores and online: studiogearcosmetics.com.
