Review: You Sculpted! Universal Contouring Palette for Face & Body by IT Cosmetics

06 May 2016

Contouring… are you sick of hearing that word yet? 😀 Everybody seems to be obsessed with it. Before contouring was a ‘thing’, it was a technique only used by celebrity makeup artists at photoshoots. Now (almost) everybody is doing it. Yes, even me!

I like to contour my cheeks and when I’m feeling extra adventurous I try my hand at contouring my nose, making it appear slimmer. Every makeup brand out there has come out with some sort of contour palette and the one that I’ve been enjoying the most lately is one by IT Cosmetics: You Sculpted! Universal Contouring Palette for Face and Body.

• Developed with plastic surgeons to look like real filler and facial contour
• Talc-free, perfect for all skin types and skin tones
• Anti-aging, skin-loving formulas infused with collagen, silk and peptides

This palette has a total of six shades. Four contour shades that absorb light and minimize the areas to which you apply them. Besides 4 darker shades, there are two highlighters that enhance features you want to pull forward, creating the appearance of more volume.

These powders are soooo incredibly smooth and easy to blend, it’s almost ridiculous. 😀 They feel super soft and don’t emphasize the pores and other imperfections on my face. At first I was afraid I wasn’t able to use most of the powders because of my darker skin tone, but no such thing! I’ve been using every single shade: either on my face to highlight and contour, or on my eyelids as transition shades for my eye shadows.

Here’s a closer look at the palette:

Both highlight shades work beautifully on me. 🙂 In addition, I’ve been using the ‘medium’ contour to bronze my face, the ‘deep’ contour to contour my cheeks (it’s perfect for my skintone!) and the two lighter contours as transition colors for my eye shadows.

I received the contouring palette along with a brush: the Heavenly Luxe ‘You Sculpted!’ #18 Contour & Highlight Brush. Like my other IT Cosmetics brushes, this brush is super soft. I understand why they included it with this palette, it has the perfect shape: it’s narrow and fits perfectly in the hollows of your cheeks for example. Love it!
