Review: Triple Sticks (Lipstick & Cream Blush) by Mommy Makeup
11 Dec 2015
All of their products are multi-tasking and time saving; you can use one product for multiple areas on your face. Also, instead of loose powder, Mommy Makeup uses pressed mineral powder and their makeup kits contain ‘paint by number’ instructions & face chart to avoid any mistakes. Besides being quick and easy, Mommy Makeup is also suitable for sensitive skin as it’s allergy tested and hypoallergenic. All powders are oil-free, talc-free, fragrance-free and paraben-free.
The product I’ve been trying out is called the Triple Sticks Lipstick & Cream Blush. Quite a name, huh? It’s not just a lippie. It’s a chubby pencil that is a lipstick, cream blush and treatment all-in-one! I have it in the shade ‘Gigi’, a plum brown with golden sheen.
How it’s described
A moisturizing, long-wearing color with medium coverage for lips and cheeks. They give gorgeous color yet feel soft and look natural, never overdone. Simply swivel for more pencil color! Wear them as a lipstick, cream blush, and moisturize your lips and cheeks with Shea and Cocoa Butter. These versatile pencils require no sharpening.
Mommy Makeup Triple Sticks Lipstick & Cream blush in ‘Gigi’
The shade ‘Gigi’ is a pretty pinky mauve. It is shimmery, which honestly I’m not used to anymore (I’ve been obsessed with matte shades lately), but I like it. It’s not over the top and it’s very wearable. It has a golden sheen to it that’s especially noticeable in the sunlight. Besides the color, I really like the way this product performs. I’m actually quite impressed with it! It’s without a doubt the lowest maintenance product I’ve tried this year.
When using it on the lips, you don’t need a lip balm, primer or liner… it applies easily (just glides on), looks pretty and stays on for a good while. I thought it wouldn’t be that long lasting, but it does stay for a while. I love it as a blush too. I’m not a big fan of cream blushes (I have oily skin), but this does work. It’s easy to apply, doesn’t make my skin looking more greasy and it stays. I draw a little line on my cheekbone and blend it out with a stippling brush. Super easy! I can see other busy moms liking this too. 🙂
Swatched on my bare skin, in direct sunlight.
Gigi on the lips and on the cheeks.
