Review: Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder by it Cosmetics (NEW)

04 Aug 2015

Back in 2013 I was obsessed with the Bye Bye Pores HD Finishing Powder by it Cosmetics. Just now, I searched my blog to see what I had written about it, only to find out that yes… my obsession was real. 😀 I mention this powder in so many posts! Here are just a few examples:

It makes your pores look smaller and gives your skin a ‘softer’ look, if that makes sense.

If you have enlarged pores, try this loose powder on top of your foundation. It makes your pores look smaller and gives your skin a ‘softer’, almost flawless look.

I loved it! The only thing I didn’t really like about it, was the fact that it was a loose powder. Loose powder literally means loose powder everywhere! Not only on your face, but also in your hair, on your clothes and on your bathroom floor. It was an awesome product, but it was messy…

So you couldn’t imagine how excited I was to find out that it Cosmetics had come out with a NEW pressed version: the Bye Bye Pores Pressed Airbrush Silk Pressed Anti-Aging Finishing Powder. Yay! 🙂

They could not have made it anymore perfect, right? Of course the first question that came into my mind was: how does this pressed version compare to the original? Are they sisters, twins or distant cousins? Also, I had heard from several makeup artists that loose powders work much better for covering pores than pressed powders do, especially if you have oily skin.

I have extremely oily skin and my pores are very visible, so I couldn’t be a better candidate to test it out, right? I’ve been testing it for a couple of weeks now, together with the Heavenly Luxe Wand Ball Powder Brush #8. Check out my review below!

My thoughts
Like I mentioned, this product is a new take on it Cosmetics’ best-selling Bye Bye Pores, which is a translucent, loose formulation that works to prevent shine and visible pores. It’s a VERY fine milled silky-feeling powder.

Pros
• It blurs my pores and acne scars. Gives me a much ‘softer’ look.
• You only need a little bit, just a light dusting.
• It keeps my skin from getting super oily.
• The compact has a mirror and a puff, perfect to blot on-the-go.
• Just as good as the loose powder, just easier to use.

Cons
• It leaves a slight white cast, especially noticeable in pictures.
• If you use too much you end up with a chalky looking finish.
• It changes the shade of my foundation a little bit (makes it slightly lighter).

My advice when using this new pressed version is not to use too much. It’s light and when used correctly it makes your foundation look flawless! My pores and acne-scars are a lot less visible. Plus, it keeps my oily t-zone under control. It gives me the same result as the loose powder, just a lot less messy! 🙂

it Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Wand Ball Powder #8 brush

I have to mention this brush! It’s called the ‘Heavenly Luxe Wand Ball Powder #8‘ brush. It’s amazing! It’s a brush that has a perfect round ball shape. It picks up and distributes powder so nicely! Even if you’re not looking for a new powder, I would definitely recommend this brush with any other powder you’re using. It really gives you that ‘airbrush’ finish. It’s pricey, but you won’t regret it! It’s the most lush, luxurious feeling brush I’ve ever used. No joke! 😀
