Your beauty question ANSWERED: what’s your favorite skincare brand?

19 May 2015

“Kizzy, what’s your favorite skincare brand?”

I get the question above A LOT. Readers and friends always like to know what my favorite skincare brand is and also what my favorite makeup brand is. This is such a difficult question for me to answer, because I try and use so many different brands and each brand usually has its hits and misses. I mostly only review the products I like, but I’ve also written about products that didn’t work for me. I always try to be as informative as possible, because if it doesn’t work for me, that doesn’t mean it won’t work for anybody else.

However, I was thinking about which skincare brands I would consider my favorites (for a top 3, for example) and I came to the conclusion that there actually is a skincare brand that I would consider my absolute favorite. 🙂 I’ve tried different products by them over the years and come to think of it: rarely have these products disappointed me! I initially received them for free to review, but most I have repurchased myself afterwards, because I loved them so much! The brand I’m talking about is: Exuviance.

Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish Skin Skincare

Exuviance was created by Drs. Van Scott and Yu and is a brand that is widely recommended by other dermatologists. They discovered the antiaging benefits of Glycolic Acid and created and patented the first Glycolic Peel. Pretty cool! Below is an overview of my favorite Exuviance products. Click on the name to go my review that I wrote.

1. Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish
This product is super easy to use, because you don’t need to scrub or anything. You apply it once or twice a week. Just massage it in a little bit and leave it on for just 2 minutes. It contains pure professional grade crystals used by dermatologists to smooth skin. It exfoliates, while Papaya Enzyme and Glycolic Acid help dissolve impurities that contribute to congested pores, and loosen dead skin cells and dull and dry patches. The end result is super smooth and silky skin, like a baby’s bum! Cell renewal is stimulated, encouraging skin to renew itself. Love it! [my review]

2. Exuviance OptiLight Tone Corrector
OptiLight Tone Corrector is AMAZING! There’s no other way to say it. It does SO much good for my skin, I can’t even explain! Fades away every dark spot or acne scar I get, within just a few weeks. I actually just bought new tube, cause I had run out. [review]

3. Exuviance CoverBlend Multi-Function Concealer with SPF 15
This is a very good concealer. CoverBlend contains an anti-aging ingredient (polyhydroxy acid) that helps minimize wrinkles and SPF 15 for protection from UVA and UVB rays. It requires a bit of ‘practicing’ (it’s liquid and you need just a tiny bit of product), but after a few times of applying it, you’ll know exactly how much product you need to get the coverage you want! [review]

The product I personally recommend for all skin types is the Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish (the first product I mention above). Its key ingredients are Glycolic Acid, Papaya Enzyme, Professional Grade Crystals and Lactobionic Acid. It retails for $72 and comes in a 2.6 oz tube. It’s pricey, but definitely a ‘holy grail’ for me. 🙂

Where to buy:
You can find Exuviance products on the Neostrata website, who are coincidentally having their Friends & Family sale right now: you get 20% off and free shipping on all orders. Score! Don’t forget to go through Ebates as well for 7.5% cash back. Great deal!

I used to be the Queen of Face Scrubs but now I prefer chemical exfoliation to manual. I can’t say no one brand is my favourite but I’m currently using Alpha H, Antipodes, Oskia, and Melivita products which I love!
