Review: MONAT Rejuvenique Oil Intensive, for skin and hair

15 Feb 2015

I’ve been obsessed with oils lately. Argan Oil in my hair and Vitamin C Oil on my face… every single day! I have to admit, at first I was skeptical about putting an oil on my face on a daily basis, because I have oily skin. However, I tried it and I got hooked! My skin is not as dull anymore, has a healthy glow instead. Also, my hair is not the frizzy mess like it used to be.
Recently I was sent a new oil to try that’s for both skin and hair. It’s called Rejuvenique Oil Intensive and it’s by MONAT. Its key ingredient is Abyssinian Oil. I had never heard of this particular oil before, but after some research I found out that it’s said to be better than my beloved Argan.

I wasn’t planning on trying my Rejuvenique Oil right away, because I’m still working on the oils I have. I wanted to finish those first, then try something new. But of course I couldn’t resist! This oil looks so luxurious, smells delicious (like a lemon pie!) and I love the fancy bottle it comes in. And turns out…this oil is really, really nice! 🙂
It’s a little expensive, but much more powerful than what I was using. I love that I can use this on my face, body AND hair, multi-functional products are great! If you’re looking to step up your skin and haircare game, this is definitely the way to go! Below are the details.

What it is:

Rejuvenique Oil Intensive is the foundation used in every one of the MONAT products. Its key ingredient is Abyssinian Oil, which creates a unique molecular-structured product that mimics the body’s own natural oils to visibly replenish and repair, with instant as well as long-term age prevention benefits, for both hair and skin:

* Seals, coats, and smoothes hair cuticles to boost shine and protect from environmental influences.
* Provides nutrients, Omega-6 fatty acids, and antioxidants which help prevent premature aging.
* Alleviates dehydration caused by harsh cleaners and styling products.
* Is a natural alternative to harmful silicones.
* Independent clinical studies show that its main ingredient Abyssinian Oil, generates superior results when compared to Argan Oil.

Ingredient list: Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Camellia Oleifera Seed Oil, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Seed Oil, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Seed Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Adansonia Digitata Oil, Mauritia Flexuosa Fruit Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Gardenia Tahitensis Flower Extract, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Caryocar Brasiliense Fruit Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil.

How to use:
Rejuveniqe Oil Intensive is so pure and versatile, that it can be used in multiple ways to improve skin and hair.
Face: apply morning and evening to face, neck and décolleté prior to moisturizer, concentrating on problem areas such as fine lines and wrinkles for instant hydration, protection and improved texture and tone.
Body: Great for all areas of the body that are prone to dryness such as cuticles, nails, elbows, knees and heels.
Hair: Pre-shampoo treatment: Apply a generous amount to dry or damp hair and scalp. Leave on for 15 minutes; rinse thoroughly. Leave-in finishing treatment: Apply a small amount to hair, concentrating on the ends. Anti-frizz treatment: Rub a small amount between hands and apply to hair, concentrating on the ends.

I’ve been using this oil daily. It’s very thick, but I have oily skin and it hasn’t broken me out. What I do is: I take a few drops, rub them in my palms, and then apply it on my face before bed. Even though this is a thick oil, it gets absorbed quickly and leaves my skin feeling really moisturized, not greasy.
In the morning I do the same, but instead of putting it on my face, I put it in my hair, concentrating on the ends. It’s a great split end tamer and makes my hair look healthy and shiny. Whatever is left over on my hands, I apply to the back of my hands. Works like a charm and smells lovely!

Where to buy:
You can find the MONAT Rejuveniue Oil Intensive at www.monatglobal.com. It retails for $99. (for 1 fl. oz). I know this is a bit on the expensive side, but if you’re looking for something to splurge on (something you can use multiple ways!), I would definitely keep this in mind. I know I’ll be crying when I run out…

Comments

  1. I have this too and I really like it! I mainly use it as a deep conditioning hot oil treatment. 🙂

  2. I just started to use the MONAT Rejuveniue Oil and can see and feel a difference between the argon oil i was using. I decided to become a market partner because I was so happy with the results!

  3. I love to use the oil too. I mix it in with the leave-in conditioner and use it on my daughter’s crazy curls and they are defined and much easier to make them look beautiful. I love that it is so much healthier to use than the crappy baby shampoo.

  4. Hey Mellisa! That’s actually a great idea! I’m going to try it 🙂

  5. I make a very similar formula and wanted know what color the Monat is to understand if they are using much of the Buruti and oils with actual vitamins or diluting it with meadow foam which is clear? If anyone can post or send me a pic that would be awesome. Courtney@brazenbeebeauty.com

  6. I just learned how to make a detangling spray for my curly kids. I used a little spray bottle, a couple of drops of Rejuvenique oil, and a couple of pumps of Restore Leave-in Conditioner and filled the rest of the bottle with water. It has been working great! It makes their hair easy to comb through and gives their curls more definition and shine that lasts all day.
