My January Makeup, Skin Care and Hair Favorites

02 Feb 2015

Hi guys! It’s me! Didn’t do a lot of blogging this weekend. Mason’s been sick with the flu (for almost two weeks now). He’s been sneezing, coughing and not eating. So sad 🙁 And I now have a terrible cold! Ugh! I still wanted to get this post out today, because it’s one of my favorites to do! It’s my monthly favorites.
Every month I go through the products that I’ve been using and I pick out a couple that I’ve been absolutely loving and that I’ve been using a lot. It’s February (already!), so that means that these are my January beauty favorites. It was hard for me to choose, because I’ve discovered a lot of great products lately. Let’s take a look, shall we?

January makeup favorites

Creme of Nature Plant-derived Repairing Oil
I know I’ve been going on and on about Argan oil, but there’s another oil that I’ve been obsessed with. It’s the Plant-derived Repairing Oil from Creme of Nature. It’s made with all natural coconut, avocado & olive oils and my hair loves it! Makes it nice and shiny and controls the frizz. I will write a full review on it soon, because it definitely deserves its own post (this is my second bottle!).

New Radiance Naturals Professional Vitamin C 20% Serum
I wrote a review about this serum by New Radiance last week. It’s the best Vitamin C serum I’ve tried so far. Besides Vitamin C, it also contains Vitamin E, Hyaluronic Acid and Amino Blend (all anti-aging). Despite the ingredients, it’s a thin serum that doesn’t leave your face greasy.

Simple Ultra-light Gel Moisturizer
I have very oily skin (how many times have I mentioned it? Probably a million…LOL), so I prefer moisturizers that are light and get absorbed easily. I’ve been using Simple’s Ultra-light Gel Moisturizer for a while now. It’s a gel moisturizer, it has no harsh chemicals, artificial perfume or dyes. Great for under makeup!

Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish
I’m in love with this exfoliating treatment by Exuviance! It’s really, really good and so worth the pricey tag. It contains Glycolic Acid and Papaya Enzyme and clarifies and refines texture by using crystals. I wrote a review on it and I will do a follow-up review in the Summer.

Evian Brumisateur Facial Spray
Moisturizes, refreshes, tones, sets your makeup… This Evian spray does it all! It has replaced my conventional makeup setting spray. I’m planning on getting a second travel bottle to put in my purse for Spring and Summer for when I want to refresh my makeup. 🙂 You can read my review here.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Full Coverage Foundation
I rediscovered this foundation the other day in my makeup collection and I had forgotten how much I love it! It covers fully, is longlasting and gives a beautiful matte finish. It contains great ingredients (Amazonian Clay for example, which controls the oils in your skin) and SPF 15.

Milani Matte Lipsticks in 64 Matte Orchid and 61 Matte Naked
I promised a while ago to write a blog post on my favorite lipsticks. I still need and want to do it! These two lipsticks by Milani will definitely be featured. They’re matte, but not drying. Keep an eye out for my lipstick post!

Comments

  1. I have heard good things about the Evian spray, but I haven’t tried it! I am crazy in love with a body butter called Hempz. It has an amazing, low key scent that lasts all day, but isn’t too perfumey.
