Evian Facial Spray setting makeup

As you know I’m a big fan of makeup setting sprays. Every time I apply a full face of makeup, I set my face with a setting spray. You can read more on how setting sprays work and how I use them in this post I wrote a while back. Recently, I’ve been hearing a lot of people using a water spray to set their makeup. I have used a water spray before (to refresh my face on a hot day), but I had never tried it as part of my makeup routine before this.

So I’ve actually been trying it for a few weeks now, as a replacement for my regular makeup setting spray, and below are my thoughts. I’ve been using the Evian Brumisateur Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray (pronounced like this: Brew-meez-ah-tour). A long name, right? I’ll just call it the Evian Facial Spray in this post. 😉

What it is:
Evian Facial Spray contains a pure, soft, natural mineral water with a totally unique mineral balance, and a neutral 7.2pH. These properties are why the spray is extremely compatible with the human body. The exquisitely fine mist produced by Evian Brumisateur penetrates and rehydrates the upper layers of the skin and leaves skin looking healthy and feeling refreshed. Of course, it is dermatologically tested and hypo-allergenic. Evian Facial Spray is suited to all skin types, even the most sensitive.

My thoughts:
After applying my makeup, I’ve been spraying my face with this spray. It’s a light mist that feels super refreshing! Besides it being refreshing and hydrating, it’s also been doing a great job in setting my makeup. Just as good as a regular makeup spray, to be honest. It gets rid of the ‘powder-look’, helps blend my makeup and brings out the color of my blush. I’ve actually been using it throughout the day as well! It’s a really fine mist, so it gets absorbed very quickly. It refreshes my makeup and doesn’t mess it up.

I prefer this over a regular makeup setting spray actually. Mainly because of its ingredients. The Evian Water spray has just that… mineral water, nothing else. As you probably know Evian is a French brand. Evian’s water starts as rain and snow high atop the French Alps after which it filters for over 15 years through glacial rock and sand to a deep underground catchment, just outside the town of Evian-Les-Bains. The French Government has extremely high standards for approving mineral waters as suitable to drink. So as you can imagine I have no problems with spraying this on my face. 😀

Where to buy:
The Evian Facial Spray is available in 3 sizes. The 1.7 oz. (50ml) travel-size retails for $7 and the biggest size (10 oz. / 300ml) retails for $17.50. The bottle I have is the regular size (5 oz. / 150 ml) and this one retails for $12. They all come in sturdy, nice bottles that are leak-proof. Unlike many other water sprays, Evian Spray is sealed at the source, so it can not be contaminated. You can find it at Sephora and Nordstrom.

  1. So funny I’ve recently started to spray this on my forehead (combination skin, oily forehead) in stead of using creams. I’m loving the results so far.
