Sephora leaving The Netherlands

For my Dutch readers, check out this press release that Sephora just posted on their Dutch website:

Sephora zal per 1 juni 2013 de Nederlands markt verlaten. Tot in de loop van mei kunt u genieten van ons uitgebreide assortiment binnen de V&D bij onze vestigingen. Graag willen wij al onze klanten en relaties danken voor uw loyaliteit. Via deze pagina houden we u op de hoogte over de ontwikkelingen rond Sephora Nederland.

So Sephora will be closing their stores in The Netherlands on June 1st. According to this press release they want to focus on international growth, which apparently does not include The Netherlands. This is a bit of a shocker to me! What do you think?

    Me too, even though I don’t live in The Netherlands anymore! I remember when Sephora opened their first shop here (I’m in NL right now) and how excited i was! Finally we could buy brands like Urban Decay and MUFE without having to order it online… It’s a shame :-(

    Aah, you are in our cold, cold Holland right now, welcome!

    My sister went to ‘our’ Sephora in Haarlem and told the SA’s there that she/we are very sorry Sephora is leaving NL. They told her that ICI Paris Xl will take over the space in the V&D (readers outside NL, this V&D is a large department store) and that the Sephora SA’s will be offered to work for them (IP_XL).
    Sephora has/had 2 ladies, the ‘specialists’ of Urban Decay and Make Up Forever,visiting alle Sephora shops in NL every now and then, they are lovely, experts and creative MUAs. Unknown to me what will happen to them. Keeping my fingers crossed that they too will be offered a new
    job :-(

    Love, love,love the brands Sephora carries. Well the ‘good news’ is, there is a flagship store of Make Up Forever in Brussels (near the trainstation) and the large Sephora shop in Paris, so there is my excuse to visit Paris :-) ))
