Review: Schick Hydro Silk razor

The day before Valentine’s Day I wrote this post to remind you guys to shave your legs for Valentine’s Day. Of course I was just goofing around, the purpose of that post was to let you know that I was trying out Schick’s most awarded razor: the Hydro Silk Razor and that I would be posting my review soon. ;-)

So here it is, I’ve been using this razor for two weeks now (I got it for free) and I can’t wait to tell you guys what I think (hint: I love it)!

Schick Hydro Silk Razor

Schick Hydro Silk hydrates skin like no other razor can. This uniquely designed razor goes beyond an incredibly close shave to actually care for your skin. With Water-Activated Moisturizing Serum & 5 Curve-Sensing blades with skin guards to help protect skin from irritation, the Hydro Silk razor leaves skin feeling silky smooth! And it’s preferred over the leading 5 blade razor.

My thoughts
This is a GREAT razor! It gives me very close shave and left my skin feeling smooth, smoother than it has with pretty much any other razor I’ve tried. The razor that I was using before was the Schick Quattro for Women TrimStyle (check out my review on it here) and before that I used Venus Embrace. This one beats both of them with ease! For me, it does everything it claims to do:

Includes Water-Activated Moisturizing Serum to hydrate your skin for up to two hours after shaving. This serum is infused with marine extracts and shea butter, which I can tell. I don’t have to rush and put on body lotion after I step out the shower. I actually do that the next day now (I usually shower in the evenings).

Includes 5 Curve-Sensing blades with Skin Guards help reduce irritation. I haven’t experienced any irritation. Also, because it has 5 blades, it only takes me a few minutes to shave my legs and underarms. This is awesome, since I had Mason my showers have to be short and sweet…

Has an ergonomic, soft touch handle with rubber grips. It feels very light in my hand, but I still have ‘control’ while shaving.

Has compact oval cartridges that fit the contours of a woman’s body. Because the cartridge is oval, it gave me a very close shave. Even around hard-to-reach places like my ankles and armpits.

So yeah, if you’re looking for a new razor, check out this one! :-)

Where to buy?
Schick Hydro Silk razors are stocked at the drugstores, grocery stores and mass retailers. The Starter Kit sells for $9.49 and the 4-packs of refill cartridges retail for around $15.11. Great buy, if you ask me!

You can leave a response. And just a heads up: if you see a comment in a foreign language, it’s probably Dutch. I have a lot of readers from The Netherlands.
