Tag: Products I regret buying

Today I’ll be sharing some products with you that just didn’t work for me. These are items I wish I’d never spent my money on knowing that I could have bought something much better… ;-)
What are yours? Let me know in the comments!

Essence I love Stage Eyeshadow Base: Essence is a budget brand that is sold at Ulta here in the US. Last year, when I was visiting my family in The Netherlands, I picked up their eye shadow base (it’s sold in most drugstores there, since it’s an European brand). The price was great (just €2,49), but unfortunately it didn’t work for me that well. It didn’t make my eye shadow last at all! My eye shadow creased after an hour or so. It was definitely a ‘fail’ product for me. Check out my review on it here.

Loose powders by Fyrinnae Makeup: Fyrinnae a brand that is known for their original colors and formulas. All products are vegan: this means no silk, carmine, pearl, beeswax, etc. Unfortunately, I’m allergic to something in these products. I’m not sure what, but I’m thinking it’s the high level of mica, over the years I’ve found out that my skin is not a fan of this. Back in 2009 I tried a couple of Fyrinnae face products and posted a review. The funny thing is, I wrote this review before I found out that these products were breaking me out. It’s interesting to read my ‘review’, obviously I should have waited a little longer with writing it. Lesson learned though, I know try something for at least three weeks before sharing my results. ;-)

Reviva Labs Hyaluronic Acid Serum: Reviva Labs is a brand that you can find online and I’ve also seen them at Ulta. Two years ago I tried their Hyaluronic Acid Serum, which is a daily moisture booster. I didn’t purchase it myself, it was sent to me for review purposes. Hyaluronic Acid helps raise skin’s moisture level to fill-in furrow, plump up tissues and tone-down lines. Long story short: I hated it! Did not work for me at all… Click here for the review I wrote after trying it for a while.

Black Radiance Liquid Eyeliner: Black Radiance is a cosmetics brand owned by Markwins, the company that also owns the very popular Wet ‘n Wild. A couple of years ago I tried their liquid liner. This liner did everything it’s not supposed to do: it smudges on me, it wasn’s not waterproof and it definitely wasn’t long lasting. You can read my full review on their liquid liner here.
