How to Be Glamorous: 5 quick and easy tips! Also, win a $100 Visa gift card sponsored by COVERGIRL

04 Dec 2012

Whether it is for a holiday party, big date, or high school reunion, every woman has those evenings when she pulls out all the stops. Here are my 5 best tips and tricks to get glamified without making too much effort! If you’re like me and you do not like to spend much time getting glamorous and red carpet ready, definitely keep reading. These are some of my personal quick go-to tricks that have never failed. ;-)

Tip 1. Paint your nails with a vibrant color. Pick a shade that you would usually never reach for. I myself love polishes that are creamy and have a glossy shine to them. My current favorites are the new COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss (check out the pretty colors in the picture above!). These nail polishes already have a glossy shine to them, so you do not need to do a topcoat. They have a smooth finish and a wear-resistant glossy shine. They are basically 3-in-1: a base-coat, high-gloss color and a chip-resistant topcoat. Quick and easy!

Tip 2. Wear your hair up. A well done up-do makes everyone look elegant. Go on YouTube and type in high bun tutorial. Tons of videos will pop up to help you create a sleek up-do!

Tip 3. Give your lashes monster volume. I have never been a big fan of false lashes (I am afraid I will lose an eyelash mid-party or something), but I do love a good mascara! The thicker your lashes (without any clumps of course!), the more glamorous you look. Have you seen COVERGIRL‘s new mascara yet? It is called the CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara. If you are a volume addict like I am, you are going to like this one. I have been trying it out for a week or so and I have to admit: it is the best LashBlast mascara thus far. Itís said to give you 200% more volume and zero clumps, even after 30 strokes. I have not tested the 30 strokes claim, but I like how my lashes look.

Tip 4. Apply a thick line of black eyeliner. I always get the most compliments about my makeup when I have winged (cat eye) eyeliner. There is just something about it! And to make it even more glamorous: add a little bit of glitter liner on top! Subtle, yet very red carpet.

Tip 5. Wear a simple black dress and add a big statement necklace. There is no need to buy a brand new dress: a pretty, big necklace (an inexpensive one, preferably something shiny!) can transform every dress. Instant glam! ;-)

What makes YOU feel red carpet ready and what are your go-to tricks?

To me, less is more. Your whole outfit doesn’t have to be encased in sequins or beads to be festive and truly sparkle. A simple black dress with silver jewelry and clear crystal accents is glam and festive!
