Review: Bio-Ceramic Shorts (anti-cellulite shorts!) by Delfin Spa
10 Nov 2012
Recently I was asked if I wanted to try out shorts by Delfin Spa. I was told that Delfin Spa has a line of clothes that is great for shedding weight because it works with ceramic technology to work with your own body’s heat. Well, of course I couldn’t say no: losing weight without going to the gym? Yeah baby!
The other day I posted my first ‘outfit of the day’ after having my baby boy (click here to see). Even though I’m almost at my pre-pregnancy weight (yay!), I’m still not 100% comfortable with my body. I still have some work to do. Exercising isn’t part of my daily routine yet (I really don’t have the energy right now), so I’ll take every opportunity to help me lose weight and tighten my body.
These are the Bio-Ceramic Shorts I received. I also got the Anti-Cellulite Cream that goes with it. The shorts are supposed to act as a thermal agent to improve the penetration and efficacy of the anti-cellulite cream. Below is my review.
How does it work?
Delfin Spa’s active wear works with your body’s movements to improve workouts and turn even the most trivial daily errands into calorie-burning exercises. They work to tone and improve your body by combining breakthrough Bio-Ceramic technology with nylon/lycra in the lining of the active wear. By focusing your natural body heat to targeted areas, you increase your metabolism and transform it into a self-sustaining means of burning calories every time you move.
What are my thoughts?
I have to admit: the first few days I regretted wearing the Bio-Ceramic Shorts. I was sweating like crazy and my thighs were aching. I generally move a lot throughout the day (I’m sure every mom with a new baby can concur) and wearing these shorts wore me out even more! However, I kept thinking ‘no pain no gain! lol
Now I’m pretty much used to them. I wear them throughout the day while doing my regular daily activities. Don’t get me wrong, I still sweat a lot and I do feel my muscles with every step, but it’s a good pain (if that makes sense!). I’m working out while being at home doing my ‘regular’ things. Awesome!
The shorts are comfortable to wear and thin enough to wear under clothing. They are made from bio-ceramic material: tight but not bulky. If you’ve ever worn a wetsuit, that’s more or less how these shorts feel. Mine (see below) are in size Medium and they fit me well (they’re true to size). They cover my entire stomach area, almost up to my bra and go down to my knees.
The Anti-Cellulite Cream is ok: it smells nice and absorbs easily. It contains algae, green tea and caffeine and is made to firm and tighten to diminish the appearance of cellulite. I haven’t experienced any great results yet, but I’m going to keep using it together with the shorts. It’s a nice combo!
Where to buy?
Delfin Spa’s Bio-Ceramic Shorts are available at specialty stores nationwide and online at Amazon, as well as delfinspa.com They retail for $40. The Anti-Cellulite Cream is $20 (for 6 oz / 170 g). The combo retails for $51.99. Besides these shorts Delfin Spa also makes capris, tummy tightener bands, calf sleeves and upper armbands. Even if you go to the gym regularly, these items are great to maximize your results. 🙂
