I have a very special guest blogger today! My friend Tameeka read my review on my newest MAC lipstick: Yung Rapunxel, inspired by Azealia Banks (a deep plum with a pink, blue-ish undertone). Tameeka wanted to try the lipstick herself, so she ran to the NYC store (ok, maybe not ‘running’, but I’m pretty sure some speed walking was involved, since it’s a limited edition lipstick) and got herself one. Check out her thoughts below and see how the lipstick looks on her!

Whenever I wear lipsticks I tend to wear lots of browns and natural colors. I have tried purple tones in the past but I haven’t been brave enough to wear any purple colors to work. When I saw MAC’s ad for Yung Rapunxel I instantly liked the color and when I saw Kizzy posting about I had to try it.
I love this color! I think it looks great with my complexion. This a great fall color!
As Kizzy mentioned in her review of this lipstick, the application is very uneven. When I tried it on in the MAC store I had to use a mirror and apply extra to my bottom lip. I took Kizzy’s suggestion and put a gloss on top of this to make the color pop. It’s a bit muted without the gloss but the muted look will be best for when I’m at work and the glossy look will be for after work.

The lipstick itself lasted only a few hours, I applied it around 6:30pm and by the time I arrived home at 9pm the color faded so multiple applications throughout the day will be necessary. I didn’t eat anything or drink anything, I just shopping so that’s something to look out for.
I think this lipstick is worth the money ($15) and worth a try.
Yung Rapunxel is a limited edition and TODAY (Thursday) is the last day to purchase this lipstick! Unfortunately, on MAC’s main site the lipstick is sold out. But all of you New York fashionistas can get it at any MAC Cosmetics store in New York City.
