Review: Exuviance SkinRise Bionic Tonic (antioxidant and anti-aging)

26 Nov 2011

Exuviance is a brand that always catches my eye when I’m looking around at department stores. It’s dermatologist developed and known for its extensive skin care line. I’ve never tried one of their products, so I was happy when I got the opportunity to do so! I received the SkinRise Bionic Tonic, so I could review it for you guys.

Exuviance SkinRise Bionic Tonic

What is it?
Exuviance SkinRise Bionic Tonic: these are pads that are drenched with an antioxidant and anti-aging tonic that is said to “moisturize and condition skin, while enhancing clarity, smoothness, and firmness. Single-use pads revitalize your skin each morning, revealing a more radiant complexion.”

Here are the main ingredients:

0 Formulated with (PHAs) Gluconolactone, Glucoheptonolactone and Lactobionic Acid
0 Multi-Antioxidant protection from Pro-Vitamins A, C and E
0 Infused with Cucumber and Eucalyptus
0 Green tea extract tones and protects stressed skin from free radicals

What are my thoughts?

I’ve been using these Exuviance SkinRise Bionic Tonic pads before bed: I cleanse my face as normal and because the pad is really thin and moist, I place it on a regular cotton pad first and then gently rub the pad(s) over my face. It’s refreshing, smells lovely (like cucumber and eucalyptus) and removes all the ‘left over’ oil and makeup of my face. When I’m done, I follow with my Neova DNA Repair Lotion, a moisturizer that I use at night (review coming soon).

Unfortunately these pads don’t work well with my skin type. I think the ingredients are too concentrated for my sensitive skin, because they cause me to break out. I tried it at least four times, but every time it seems to cause a few whiteheads to pop up….

Very disappointing, because they look so promising! Vitamins A, C and E, Green Tea, Cucumber, Eucalyptus…. sounds good, right? But like with every other skin care product: not everything that works for one, works for everyone. So just cause my skin doesn’t agree with this product, it might work great for you!
