I’ve found an effective way to control the oil on my face! Woohoo! Not sure if this will work for eeeeverybody, but it’s working great for me so far. If you’re dealing with oily skin like I am, keep reading and, if you can, try out these products!
Below are the products I’ve been using to help control the oil. The last two are optional/only if necessary:
1. MAC Cosmetics Oil Control Lotion
2. elf High Definition Powder
3. Skindinavia No More Shine Makeup Finish Spray (oily skin formula)
4. MAC Cosmetics Blot Powder in Dark
5. Boscia Peppermint Blotting Linens
So first I put MAC’s Oil Control Lotion on my face, after I’ve applied my moisturizer.
Then I skip the primer part (what? yes, shock face!) and apply my foundation and blush/bronzer of choice. I set everything with elf’s HD powder. Yes, if even if my foundation of choice that day is a powder.
In stead of using a brush, I apply the HD powder with the puff that comes with it. I ‘press’ the powder in my skin (this is key, I think!). If I have white powder ‘residue’ on my face, I use my Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki brush to blend it in some more.
The last step is the Finish Spray. I lightly spray my face, wait ’till it dries and then continue with my eye makeup. I have the spray by Skindinavia, which is the exact same product as the one by Urban Decay.
Throughout the day I blot if necessary with MAC’s Blot powder and occasionally I use a blotting linen (I keep these in my handbag).
I’ve tried so many different things to control the oil in my face and this combination is the best I’ve found so far! My face is matte all day, especially if I use a long lasting, matte foundation like MAC Pro Long Wear.
