A budget concealer duo: a heavy duty concealer with concealer pencil
I’ve recently picked up a Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer at Walmart. This is a new product by Hard Candy and actually, it’s my first by Hard Candy! Honestly, the brand never really interested me, because I feel like it’s geared more towards teenagers. Their collections have cute packaging and low prices, but I’ve always thought quality wise it’s not the best.
BUT, I’m always open to trying new things and after watching some positive reviews on YouTube, I wanted to try it for myself!
Click here to find the product on Hard Candy’s website (not a lot of information there though, they don’t even list the ingredients…)

This is what Hard Candy says about it:
A heavy duty, highly pigmented, multi-use concealer that delivers ultimate coverage. The formula blends seamlessly into skin with plenty of play time creating a flawless and natural look perfect for any occasion. You can hide everything from dark circles and blemishes to tattoos. 3 shades will match most skin tones.
My thoughts?
I have it in the color ‘tan’ and it’s highly, highly pigmented. It’s probably the most pigmented concealer I own. This can pretty much cover anything you don’t want other people to see! Dark circles, red spots, acne scars, fine lines, birth marks, tattoos… It’s really concentrated and does a great job of concealing!
The pencil included is supposed to be for spot coverage, so you can dab it on a zit and quickly conceal it. I can’t say if it actually works, because I haven’t tried it. And that’s a good thing! I means that I haven’t had any spots to conceal (knock on wood!).
The concealer I have used. I use it under my eyes and to cover red spots (acne scars). It’s great, but I have noticed that if I apply too much, it blends a bit crummy. The texture gets a little dry and cakes up a bit. However, when I apply a little bit (right after I applied my eye cream), it works really well.
The tube that the concealer comes in, is fairly big (20 g/0.71 oz). Since you only need a tiny bit (really, really tiny), its generous size will easily last you forever.
Just so you know: I checked the packaging and the first two ingredients are: petrolatum and lanolin oil. These are ingredients that are known to irritate skin. I, however, haven’t had an problems with it (and my skin is really sensitive).
I wouldn’t recommend this product to people with dry skin or a lot of wrinkles. However, if this doesn’t apply to you and if you want to conceal redness, dark circles, acne or tattoos, definitely check this out! $6 for a very pigmented concealer is a pretty good deal!
Hard Candy is (in the US) only available at Walmart. I’m not sure about Europe. If you’ve seen this brand anywhere else, let me know in the comments below!
