Since I mentioned it in Friday’s blog post (click here if you missed it), I’ve received a few questions about Argan oil.
I had been using my Proclaim Argan Oil Hair Oil Treatment for a few months before I switched to Shiseido Tsubaki Hair Conditioner Treatment. Click here for blog post about my hair routine that I wrote back in August.
However, I’m not negative about Argan oil at all!! I love it, it does work well, but I’ve recently found something that works better on my hair.
The reason I decided to purchase Argan Oil in the first place, was because I heard a lot of rave about it. It had become very popular recently and a lot of Argan oil products appeared on the market.
The popular ingredient is produced from the kernels of the Argan tree and is endemic to Morocco. It’s also called Moroccan oil. Argan oil is said to possess both medicinal and cosmetic properties because it is rich in Vitamin E, Omega-6, essential fatty acids, and antioxidants and has great restorative properties.
Argan oil has been shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, strengthen elasticity and improve skin’s overall health and vitality. Extremely rich in Vitamin E and antioxidants, Argan oil has also been shown to fight free radicals, help reduce inflammation, minimize the appearance of wrinkles and assist in protecting the skin from environmental factors.
Argan oil is not only great for skin, but also for hair. If your hair is damaged, chemically-treated or excessively-curly, it provides the hydration and radiant shine. Argan oil strengthens brittle hair while promoting healing to the hair with no build up. It softens thick unmanageable hair and restores shine and softness. It is instantly absorbed into the hair and eliminates frizz. Argan oil also nourishes the scalp and can be used as an oil treatment.
There are A LOT of skin care, hair care, and cosmetic products containing Argan oil these days. I’m using the Shiseido Tsubaki now as my hair treatment (that contains the red camellia flower, not Argan oil), but if you’re interested in Moroccan oil, I would definitely recommend you to check it out! Doesn’t hurt to try!!
