[About our road trip] Vegas!

Edit: Sorry, I accidentally moved the pictures and now the direct links don’t work anymore….Bummer, I’ll fix it soon!

Hey hey!

Since my update yesterday I’ve been receiving a lot of messages of people who hadn’t heard that we have left California and are now living in Ohio. I know it’s ‘shocking’, but yes, it’s true: I now live in the Midwest! In the Cincinnati area to be exact.

Before this whole adventure started I had only been to California, Hawaii and Nevada as far as the States go. So yes, it’s a new experience and Ohio is definitely different from Cali, but honestly… I love it here so far! It’s refreshing to be in a new place and discover new things.

We live just outside of Cincinnati. So far I’ve discovered that most people here are friendly, the weather is super nice and as far as shops and facilities goes: it’s all here too!

And don’t worry, we didn’t say goodbye to Cali forever: my boo’s family and some of our friends still live there, so I’m sure we’ll be there as often as we can.

Anyway, yesterday I promised to cover our road trip in multiple blog posts this week, so that’s what I’m going to do now!

We drove to Ohio in stead of flying to different reasons. One of the reasons being our car. Driving a car to another state is definitely less expensive than shipping the car. Another reason was the ‘adventure’. We both wanted to do a real road trip! Sure, we’d both done little road trips in our lives before (California to Las Vegas, Holland to Portugal etc.), but we had never done one this extensive.

The drive from San Francisco to Cincinnati is about 39 hours non-stop (2,439 miles =  3,925 kilometers). Yep, superlong!  Of course we did stop along the way. We had a stop in Vegas (stayed there for 5 days) and we stayed overnight in Denver and St. Louis. The whole thing was superlong and tiring, but definitely fun and successful!

Our first stop was Las Vegas. I’d been to Vegas before (in 2007) and it was awesome! But because the Strip (which is the main ‘attraction’) is really long (there are way too many hotels), I didn’t get a chance to see ‘everything’ the first time. So I was really happy to go again! Vegas is definitely a place that you have to visit at least once in your life. It’s different than anything I’ve ever seen before. So much to do and see…. So many hotels, casinos, clubs, restaurants, bars and last but not least: people! They were everywhere….

Below are a few pics we took. Tomorrow I will show you where we stayed! :-)
