mySkin: Unbiased Skincare Advice

mySkin

People who know me in real life (or have been following my site for a while!) know that I have skin issues. My problems aren’t major, but they do exist.

First of all: I have extremely oily skin. And secondly, my skin is very sensitive.

I can not eat nuts or shellfish without breaking out, my skin is affected by my hormones levels and I have to be very careful in the sun because I easily get a sun rash. I’m also very senstive to certain ingredients in make up, like mica, talc and mineral oil. This all makes me really sad sometimes… I usually don’t know what’s appropriate to put on my face and what I should avoid… :-(

But HOORAY for the internet! The other day I was introduced to a new website called mySkin, located at mySkin.com. This is a site that focuses on unbiased skincare advice for women.
mySkin is, what I call, a smart website ;-)

They do NOT sell anything or take on any advertisers, which makes me feel like I can actually trust the advice they give me. I wouldn’t want to be part of a site that is just there to push things on you…

This is how the site works:
After you sign up, you simply fill out the questionnaire they offer you. The questions cover areas such as skin type, concerns, age, lifestyle, weight and ethnicity. Don’t worry, the survey doesn’t take a lot of time!

When you’re done, you’re presented with your own personalised skin report. From there you can go on to input the products that you’re currently using. Or you can go straight ahead to product recommendations.

The site will create a list of skin care products that will work for you! Isn’t that neat? And again, the site isn’t dedicated to any specific brand. It’s all honest advice based on the information you’ve filled out.

What it suggested me:
I tried this out yesterday and it suggested a few products I’ve seen in the drugstores here and a few that I’ve been looking to try, like Cetaphil’s moisturizing cream and Clinique’s liquid facial soap mild. The more of your own products you add and the more you review, the more specific your recommendations become.

Ok, as you can tell I like the site a lot and I really think you should check it out! ;-) mySkin.com is ‘by invitation only’ right now, but you can register before its official launch with the invite code: kizzy. Let me know how you like it! :-)

Just to be clear: I am not receiving any type of compensation. My opinions are my own and are not influenced by outside sources!

You can leave a response. And just a heads up: if you see a comment in a foreign language, it’s probably DUTCH.
