The ‘CHI Iron Guard Thermal Protection Spray’ doesn’t like me. I wrote about purchasing it at T.J. Maxx in this post.
Granted, I’ve tried it only once, but it didn’t do anything for my hair! When I used it my hair was really frizzy, because I had just washed & air dried it and hadn’t put any product in it yet. So I sprayed some of this stuff in my hair, thinking it would give me a nice shine while protecting my hair from the heat of the flat iron. It did nothing! I added some more product in my hair, but my hair remained dry and frizzy. WTF? I decided not to add more, because I was afraid of my hair getting sticky…. The product promises to ‘provide superior heat protection from the inside out’ and ‘protect against styling and finishing damages from the hottest heat styling tool’. I’m not sure how I can test that, but as far as ‘softening and balancing hair, locking in moisture’ goes….It did nothing. My hair was far from ‘silky’ and ‘shiny’. However, I’ve used it just this once. If my opinion changes after I’ve tried it more often (I style my hair once a week), I will write an update!
