Applying eye liner

I hardly ever leave the house without lining my eyes. It’s stupid, I know. But without eyeliner my eyes look…plain, boring and ugly. Haha! Even if it’s a ‘no makeup’ day (and honestly, I have a lot of those!), I always line my eyes when I go outside. Sometimes I use kohl pencils, but I prefer liquid liners since they stay on better (and longer!) without smudging.

A lot of women are scared of liquid liner, but honestly: to me applying liquid liner is a lot easier than putting on different eyeshadows and doing the whole blending thing to create that smokey look. Lining your eyes is a lot faster to do and you only need that one liner (and some mascara to complete the look)!

Here are some tips to achieve perfect winged eyes:

1. I personally don’t do this, but some people like to apply powder on their eyelids first to absorb moisture. This will give your liner more ‘staying power’ and will make the application smoother.

2. Use your finger to pull your eyelid outwards. Doing this will make your eyelid smooth, so you can make a precise line.

3. Try to get the line as close to the lash line as possible so that you don’t end up with an empty space between your lashes and the liner when you open your eyes.

4. Apply the liner in one clean line from the inside of your eye to the outside. If you start the line a little further out this will give the illusion of wider set eyes.

5. Start with a thin line and once you near the outer corner of your eye, start angling the line upward. The more you angle up, the more fierce your look will be.

6. And the last step is of course mascara to complete the look!

You can leave a response. And just a heads up: if you see a comment in a foreign language, it’s probably DUTCH.
