My second pedicure ever

I got my second pedicure ever last Friday. :-)

Asian nail salon

My first pedicure ever was last year, right before I went on vacation to my family on the Cabo Verde Islands. I knew I was going to be walking around in flip flops all day for five weeks, so getting a pedicure was a necessary thing to do (in my eyes). So I went to a Brazilian/Capeverdean place a few minutes away from where we live. It was ok, but not super. It was kind of ghetto in my eyes. It was a small space with way too many people. They gave me a simple bucket to put my feet in and left me in that position for more than 15 minutes. After that they gave a foot rub and that was it. Nothing too special.

Last Friday however I went to an Asian nail salon. And these tiny ladies really know their stuff! First of all I got to sit in an actual massage chair with a build-in feet tub. They had me soak my feet for a while in this delicious blue water (no clue to what was in it), while getting a back massage. Secondly, the Chinese woman (who didn’t speak a word of Dutch, which I didn’t mind at all) treated my feet like they were the first pair of feet she’d seen after she had finished her pedicure course. She put all her knowledge in my feet. She used cuticle pushers, nippers, clippers, removers, oils, creams etc etc like nobody else! Plus she gave me a wonderful feet massage (half of the time I was giggling, cause I’m very ticklish….lol)

The end result? I ended up with light, soft feet and cute french manicured toe nails! I would show you a picture, but I don’t think you would every visit my blog again if I would. My toes are not pretty….

After I was done I treated myself to a pair of Birkenstock, a German popular brand. They’re not the prettiest sandals (I admit that), but they are super super comfy! I’m definitely taking them with me to Denmark next Wednesday!
